This MDF spool is a perfect fit for our 1 pound, 1/2 pound, and 1/4 pound coils and can easily be adjusted to various coil widths by printing different sized slats. This spool comes with two pairs of slats, one to configure the spool for holding up to one pound, and the other for up to 1kg (2.2lb).
MDF is a wood composite product that is denser and less prone to warping than most ply woods. A little cheaper than the acrylic this spool looks good and works great. Make sure to use a dust remover for your filament as with any wood coil, wood dust rubbing off can be a concern.
One spool is all you need to last you coil after coil. Though having a couple around is convenient if you have lots of colors.
Switching to reusable spools and buying coils will cost less and save on shipping; not to mention you can stop throwing away a 12 oz spool for every 2.2 pounds of Plastic Filament you use.
The spools are easy to assemble and can collapse down for compact storage when not in use. Coils are easy to install and remove if you want to to swap plastic before finishing a coil.
The inner and outer diameters are nearly identical to our 1KG Spools and will fit existing holders.
Does not include plastic filament.
